Clannad episode 21 AND Some very, very sad news…

Gah. This series is my favorite series of now. If you have been following up on this, you will feel the same way. Please watch this, viewers, if you have not been keeping up on it. You need to go watch Clannad. Go watch all twenty-one episodes, then come back and read. You don’t even know what you’ve been missing…poor you!

Well, Nagisa finally shows off her acting skills to the club. However, I find it funny that she’s never seen a theater performance before…Anyway, things get a little complicated with Okazaki-san as he talks more with ‘old man’ (Nagisa’s dad). A few episodes back, he was telling Okazaki a little of Nagisa’s life, about how they (‘old man’ and Sanae, Nagisa’s mom and dad) raised her and the troubles that they have had. Unfortunately, we learn stuff way more intense in this episode, and what kind of sacrifices the parents had to make to keep sick little Nagisa safe. Well…it becomes extremely ironic at the end. Let’s just say that acting may run in the family.

Nagisa practices extremely hard for her first official rehearsal, and apparently does very well. She is very nervous about the whole ordeal (who wouldn’t be?) but her friends are there, as usual, to back her up. This cycle of friendship automatically reminded me of the beginning, when Nagisa had no friends at all. Anybody else keeping that in mind? Nagisa=beast.

Of course, I couldn’t finish without saying that Okazaki is finally starting to realize his feelings toward Nagisa. He actually says that he realizes how great she is.  Looks like the race for Okazaki has been decided…

However, I HATED the way this episode ended. Yet another cliff-hanger. Cliff-hangers bug me, but it was well composed. Now it’s just a waiting game. But when it comes to Clannad, I’m not a very patient guy.

Rating: 9.5 out of 10 Arizona green teas.

Then, the bad news. Okay, if you didn’t know, there is a Clannad movie. Not done by the people who brought us the series, so I may be able to forgive somebody. But the movie? Uh-uh. Somebody is going DOWN. I never watched the movie myself, and thank goodness I haven’t. I just read a review. I desperately need to rant about this, but I don’t want to spoil anything. I’ll say one thing-if you got sad during any time in the series, you could call yourself depressed beyond control now. Gah…I need to find an emo corner now… *curls into ball*
