Ok…Ok…I can do this…

Alright. A lot of my friends (if not all) know that I play tennis. Yes, it is extremely fun. And I love being active when it involves tennis. But, as we all know, good things can turn very bad in just a few minutes. Here’s what happened today.

Gyah! Fire Drill! Late for practice!
Gyah! I have to practice with Mr. Johnson, the JV coach!
Gyah! This certain freshman won’t leave me alone! He is purposely trying to anger me, not even kidding! Why, oh why, won’t he leave me alone? Hey kid, guess what? You won’t have a future! Why? Because you’re trying to please your friends. Now get a grip-literaly-you suck at this sport.
Gyah! I was promised to play a doubles match! Now I don’t get to play!
Gyah! Now I do get to play, but the opponents are WAAAAYYY out of our league! We (I play doubles) got royally PWNED.
Gyah! I let Keith borrow my Jersey, but he never gave it back!
Gyah! I left my salad container-mabob at school!

Well, I think a suitable acronym for this is SNAFU.

I would like a slight anti-climactic from this week. I seriously want to puree this freshman. ARGH!!! Why are they all so jerky?! Oh well, this video cheered me up. AWESOME music, reminds me of Nightwish, but the video itself is just flat-out weird. Ah well. They’re a dutch band called Within Temptation. Check it out…

Uh, let’s see…expect a review of the first DVD of Pumpkin Scissors soon. I’m trying to watch more Miyazaki films, too. Nasicaa is up next. Also starting Excel Saga. Looks good…

Oh, and for all the Twelve Kingdom book fans-there is an entire anime out…like, right now. All of them. Seriously, they have them all at the Centerville library. Good thing I live so close!

Al

You’re the Dee Dee Dee

This is dedicated to all you idiots. Now I’m not calling anybody in particular an idiot, but you know who you are. After watching the video, you will be able to spot a dee dee dee a lot easier.

Dee Dee Dee song by Carlos Mencia. I do not own that song or the catchphrase, but I wish I did :)

Fullmetal Alchemist The Movie: Conqueror of Shamballa (Rant)

Disclaimer: IT’S NOT MINE!!! GAH! Please don’t sue me, you crazy Japanese people. And Carly. And fangirls/boys. Just don’t think that I am claiming this as my movie or series, because it is owned by…some Japanese developer of somewhere. Ok?

Ok. So I started the Fullmetal Alchemist series this past September. I really, really enjoyed it. I finished it around, oh, I want to say December. I happened to meet a whole bunch of friends who like FMA (Fullmetal Alchemist, abbreviated.) at my school. This happened around September too. So a couple of said FMA friends told me about the FMA movie that was supposed to be the end of the series. Well, I finally watched it… And got a very mixed reaction.

I’m not going to do a full review, but I need to rant about this. Let me say that it was a terrific movie, the art was awesome and the sound was great (both vocal, music, and sound effects), the storyline was jaw-dropping…but the ending? It was a very dissatisfying ending.

I know that anime almost always has a bittersweet ending (a la Death Note or DN Angel), but jeez…That was just depressing. Poor Heidrich… Also, what happened to Roy Mustang and Riza Hawkeye? We are left with no information on them in the end. (sorry if I’m spoiling, just open eyes and apply pepperspray before reading on)

Also, Izumi-sensei seemingly died off-season (bad move, people. I’ll have my revenge!). Can somebody tell me how that is helpful? It was sweet, though, when Wrath finally joins with his mom again… (though there is some major fanservice while re-uniting)  There were a good amount of loose ends here, but at least the ending was at least moderately satisfying.

Okay, so I may be criticizing a little too much. It was great, but they could have drawn everything together a little better. Any opinions about FMA? Leave a comment, I’ll hit ya back.

Alex-kun

Ha…you’ve got to see this.

Ok, this has SO many inside jokes between my friends and I that it will make your head spin. Click here. It’s basically an anime dubbing…Notice any inside jokes? Well, you won’t notice them if you don’t know me @_@.

Anyway, have a great day. Hope this Brightens it up~

Maximum Ride:The Final Warning…It’s out. Now.

Don’t believe me? See for yourself. Max also put up this hilarious “How many 5 year old could you take on” survey. I can take on 26 5 year olds. Aint it great? Although I am slightly opposed to child abuse…Everbody knows at least one five year old they would like to beat back into kindergarten…or something. But back to the point. Everybody is expecting this final book to be the best. I don’t see how one can top the other, though. James Patterson is…well, old. So can somebody tell me how he wrote from a young female teen’s perspective so well? Not that I would know…But still. This guy is brilliant. If you have yet to read Maximum Ride, you should go read it. I guarantee you’ll find a copy at your local library.

When we last left Max and company (without too many spoilers) Max learned about her true parents, one of my favorite characters just…died, and we left off with a pretty satisfying ending. Patterson could have let thing go right there, but thank goodness he didn’t. Only, I really hope that this series gets the ending it deserves. I loved the first three, and I can only hope that he ties together the loose ends. Many authors make a trilogy/cycle/series and leave out details before finishing, which many people don’t notice (unless you’re a structure fiend like me). We shouldn’t have too much of an issue with Patterson, though. Come on, This is James Patterson we’re talkng about…I shouldn’t be worrying. Right?

Wrong. Now, I’m not bashing here or anything. I’m just saying that I REALLY hope he wrote this final book carefully. It would be a terrible thing to end a great series with a pile of stink. The only thing left to do is read it…I just need to finish this big list of books first, which I am haing trouble with (Because The Saint Of Dragons is BORING and lifeless. And I happened to find a few point of view errors and some haphazard grammar. Darn you, editors!)

The Saint of Dragons
The Naming
The Twelve Kingdoms-Sea of Shadow (
I really recommend this!!!)
Sabriel
You Are SO Not Invited To My Bat Mitzvah!
We Are SO Crashing Your Bar Mitzvah!

I need some naggers to nag me to finish these! Normally I can’t get rid of them, and now I need some naggy people…

Seeing Redd? I’m Seeing Success.

I’m still getting over the pain of the Clannad movie. And I never even watched it. See what an epic anime will do to you? Well, I learned my lesson. Never use a tag surfer unless you want to be emo in the near future. Well, I’m going to move on for a minute and give you a review on the second book of The Looking Glass Wars-Seeing Redd. I hate to do this yet again, but here goes.
Disclaimer: I do not own The Looking Glass Wars, I have no part in the development process at all. I am just a reader and a reviewer. Don’t sue me Frank Beddor! Honestly, you might get a handful of pocket change if you’re lucky.

Okay, Seeing Redd is the sequel to the unforgetable looking glass wars, which was a spinoff of all of the works of Lewis Carrol (Jabberwocky, Alice in Wonderland, Through the Looking Glass, etc.) and turned out to be fantastic. In the second installment, there is slightly less action (and I do mean slightly. There is plenty of action here), but there is a much more tied-together plotline. We also learn more backdrops for certain characters, some unexpected character kicks the bucket, and two unexpected (to Alyss, Dodge and crew) characters come back in a certainly unexpected way…at the end, you may be seeing Redd.

My favorite two characters in the book (Homburg Molly and Hatter Madigan) became close in a certain fashion I wasn’t expecting. Alyss and Dodge become closer, and near the end, nobody knows how to use imagination anymore (imagination being their form of ‘magic’. Honestly, think magic.) It makes me wonder how Alyss will defend her Kingdom without her imagination…well, maybe with the crazy assortment of weapons the universe has to offer she has a chance. The weapons created by the author are simply…well, imaginative. Cannonball spiders are spiders that are launched in cannonball form, then erupt into a huge spider. They live long enough to take out a group of enemies, then die out to prevent the spider from trning back on the thrower. Another one of my favorite weapons is the whipsnake grenade, which is thrown, then explodes into electric coils that spray out into a large area. (similar to a normal grenade)

Even with a rather cliffhanger ending, Hatter and Molly’s blade spinning, Alyss’s imagination powers, her guardsmen’s use of crazy weapons and Redd’s recruiting an army of imagination-users from…earth-? Was worth the time more than many other books I’ve spent my time on this year. Don’t let the cover intimidate you (I thought it was awesome)-This book is one that guarantees a non-stop thrillride from beginning to end.

9 out of 10 Arizona green tees.
[Why not higher? Because the ending was rather...unsatisfactory. You'll see when you read it. Very worth the time, though.]

Clannad episode 21 AND Some very, very sad news…

Gah. This series is my favorite series of now. If you have been following up on this, you will feel the same way. Please watch this, viewers, if you have not been keeping up on it. You need to go watch Clannad. Go watch all twenty-one episodes, then come back and read. You don’t even know what you’ve been missing…poor you!

Well, Nagisa finally shows off her acting skills to the club. However, I find it funny that she’s never seen a theater performance before…Anyway, things get a little complicated with Okazaki-san as he talks more with ‘old man’ (Nagisa’s dad). A few episodes back, he was telling Okazaki a little of Nagisa’s life, about how they (’old man’ and Sanae, Nagisa’s mom and dad) raised her and the troubles that they have had. Unfortunately, we learn stuff way more intense in this episode, and what kind of sacrifices the parents had to make to keep sick little Nagisa safe. Well…it becomes extremely ironic at the end. Let’s just say that acting may run in the family.

Nagisa practices extremely hard for her first official rehearsal, and apparently does very well. She is very nervous about the whole ordeal (who wouldn’t be?) but her friends are there, as usual, to back her up. This cycle of friendship automatically reminded me of the beginning, when Nagisa had no friends at all. Anybody else keeping that in mind? Nagisa=beast.

Of course, I couldn’t finish without saying that Okazaki is finally starting to realize his feelings toward Nagisa. He actually says that he realizes how great she is.  Looks like the race for Okazaki has been decided…

However, I HATED the way this episode ended. Yet another cliff-hanger. Cliff-hangers bug me, but it was well composed. Now it’s just a waiting game. But when it comes to Clannad, I’m not a very patient guy.

Rating: 9.5 out of 10 Arizona green teas.

Then, the bad news. Okay, if you didn’t know, there is a Clannad movie. Not done by the people who brought us the series, so I may be able to forgive somebody. But the movie? Uh-uh. Somebody is going DOWN. I never watched the movie myself, and thank goodness I haven’t. I just read a review. I desperately need to rant about this, but I don’t want to spoil anything. I’ll say one thing-if you got sad during any time in the series, you could call yourself depressed beyond control now. Gah…I need to find an emo corner now… *curls into ball*

Insane Lack of Willpower! (Unabriged version)

Ok, can somebody please tell me why OGT’s suck the life out of you? That week ruined all my grades by impossibly deadly amounts. I’m not going to go on an all out rant, but something’s got to give… On another note, I would like to ask some things from my viewers. Being a high schooler and all, I can’t really think of things to do on this blog in my spare time. That being said, please goive me your opinions on the following issues. Thank you Nii-paa!

First thing, should I start posting more newsy stuff? Anime, books, etc.? Come on, folks. Help me out here. I will not stop talking about anime in general, sorry. I will also defend Misa Misa to all odds. I dare you to say Misa is a…word. Your comment will be deleted so fast that you’ll think a retarted monkey being pepper-sprayed on ice skates is modding this site.

Next, I wanted to know what kind of updates would be helpful. I know I promised a character-personality page and everything, but I’m finding that time is becoming more and more scarce thanks to Tennis (Mike, if you’re reading this, our first practice is Friday if you’re still interested.). Besides updating the obvious and getting some art up in here, let me know if there are any pages that would be beneficial.

Then there is music. I have been obsessed with the greatness of Nightwish lately, and please let me knw if more music would be appreciated. I will try to provide more links and videos in the future, too.

Books. I could seriously go on and on about all kinds of books. This will stay no matter what, just as the anime policy is. Also, I wanted to bring up a subject. If you are visiting my blog, please leave a comment. It will make me very happy, and I can be a very helpful person if you treat me with respect. No flaming, please.

I would like to thank Lycanine, admin. of Anime Underground in the UK, for leaving a comment on my post (see below). Seems like she liked the site, and I checked her site. Pretty cool, pretty cool… Felt like I had to give her some credit, as I do many people. I’m just nice like that. *beams*

Well, that seems to be all. Need to get to my workout soon, and with that-

ja ne!

Maximum Ride: The Final Warning (Yes!!!) And Cullen madness >.<

         Dear devoted Maximum Ride fans,
First of all, I do not own the rights of this series. This particular book series is by the amazingly talented James Patterson. For everyone who thought that Saving the World and Other Extreme Sports was that last Ride novel, prepare to be face shot. That’s right, the fourth (and possibly, though hopefully not final) book in the series will be coming out in the near future. Which makes me want to promote their blog, maximumride.blogspot.com check it out!

Um…is it just me, or is Iggy INCREDIBLY awesome? Just a hunch…

In other news, I can’t believe the casting for the Twilight movie. Ugh. Did you see Jasper? AAAAUUUGH!!!! It looks like his hair will turn into wings and fly away…Although I do have to say that they found an okay Alice Cullen and Bella Swan. But can somebody tell me why Bella looks better than the vampires? HUH?

In anime world, I’m trying to start Outlaw Star and Wolf’s Rain. Yes, I know hey are older, but I need a break from DeathNote. That is addicting stuff, man. Oh, and has anyone ever heard of domo-kun? They have a lot of cool stuff based off of him at Hot Topic, and I’ve always had a sort of obsession with domo kun…

A lot of people seem to be obsessing over Blood+ these days. And I can’t really say that I blame them. I want my season two, you morons! Please make it! Saya and Haji still have that odd love cycle, dontcha know… Only this time, they should add some cool werewolf mix-up. Because as we know, everything is better with a wolfy guy. Or girl. (Gets shot by 19th amendment)

Well, I have to go. Someone is being a nazi right now (gurr I did NOT wait until the last minute to do my work, I just didn’t see that stupid unnoticable detail that I needed old work >:o)

Bye everyone…post more later if I survive…
